Preparation
It is first important to ensure that the existing surface is clean, dry and free of all debris. This is critical, as the subsequent

A small section (no more than a few centimetres in most cases) should be cut away from the bottoms. This will guarantee that the vinyl flooring fits tightly and that there are no gaps. Measure the thickness of the vinyl in order to determine how much should be removed.
"Loose Fitting" and Installing the Tiles
You will then need to "loose fit" the tiles before any adhesive is applied. Use a chalk line to divide the room into equal halves while making certain that the line in question is perpendicular to the opposite walls.
Then, loose fit the tiles in the centre of this line. Use a t-square to once again check the angles where the tiles meet the wall. Assuming that the angle is true (90 degrees), you can then begin permanently affixing the
